They have rejected Barça's offer for Neymar but remain in talks with Real Madrid over a deal

It can't be denied that Barça have tried every possible option to sign Neymar but PSG's refusal to back down has caused talks to hit a brick wall. They won't accept any loan deal regardless of future payments. PSG want a permanent transfer to be sorted out this month but are open to receiving that in instalments. At Barça, they feel this is a tactic to force Neymar to end up at anywhere but the Camp Nou but they aren't ready to give up.

PSG's stance is problematic but Barça's ace up the sleeve is Neymar's desire to rejoin Lionel Messi at the club. More than ever, they need the Brazilian to put pressure on his current side if this situation is going to turn itself around. Barça have been clear with PSG and are willing to pay €160m in total to land Neymar but won't go a penny higher.

Such is PSG's desire to find Neymar a new home they've asked Juventus about taking him, but that's already been ruled out, and are openly negotiating with Real Madrid too. They feel now is the time to show their hand as they try to convince PSG - and Neymar - that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is the best option available.

Barça have informed Neymar of their movements throughout this and are confident, aside from including more desirable players, no other club can match their offer. The Brazilian asked for proof and the club responded by meeting with PSG in Paris and then making two official offers to them.

In those conversations, Barça have made it clear they won't get involved in a bidding war and that there must be a limit to these negotiations. They feel they've done their part and now it's down to Neymar and PSG. The option of a loan being discarded puts a major spanner in the works and Real Madrid, sensing this is their opportunity, are launching their own offence to land the talented Brazilian.
