Prosecution ask for two year prison sentence for Barça star Neymar

The prosecution has asked for a two year prison sentence for Neymar, five years for the former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell and a fine of 8.4 million euros for the Catalan club as a legal entity.

Jose Perals, the prosecutor, accuses Neymar of being implicated in the corruption case which has come about as a result of his transfer to Barça. In the case of Rosell, the prosecution feel there is a clear case of both corruption and fraud. Finally, Barça could be handed a large fine, too.

Current Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu has been exonerated by the public prosecution, though, who asked for the case against him to be closed.

DIS, meanwhile, which held a percentage of Neymar’s rights when he made the switch from Santos, has filed its indictment before the judge. Their list of complaints does not leave anyone indifferent.

The Brazilian investment group want eight years in prison for Bartomeu and Rosell for corruption and fraud. As for Neymar and his parents, DIS accuse them of corruption and want a prison term of five years.
