The club say he's not had contact with the players involved in the Champions League

Barcelona confirmed on Wednesday that one of the nine players due to begin pre-season training this week has tested positive for coronavirus. 

The player is asymptomatic, in good health and is isolating at home, the Catalan club said in a short statement, adding that he had not been in contact with anyone due to travel to Lisbon for Friday's game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. 

Barça announced: "Following PCR tests conducted this Tuesday afternoon on the group of nine players due to begin the preseason today, one of them has tested positive for COVID-19. The player has no symptoms, is in good health and has been quarantined at his home.

"The club has reported the matter to the relevant sporting and health authorities. All persons who have been in contact with the player have been tracked to perform the corresponding PCR tests.

"The player has not been in contact with any of the senior team players who are scheduled to travel to Lisbon this Thursday to compete in the Champions League." 

The players that were tested on Tuesday were Trincao, Pedri, Oriol Busquets, Wagué, Miranda, Rafinha, Aleñá, Matheus Fernandes and Todibo.

The nine players are either returning from loans or new signings are are starting pre-season ahead of La Liga's restart on Sept. 12, while their teammates are due to travel to Portugal on Thursday for the Champions League final eight.
