The Bosnian will join the Catalans this summer and play for them next season

Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic is putting an end to his four years as a Juventus player to sign for Barcelona.

The 30-year-old started in Metz in 2007, then Lyon until 2011 before joining Roma, where he spent five seasons before his move to Juve in 2016.

The life of a footballing globetrotter. He could have joined Barcelona earlier in fact. As a kid he watched Zinedine Zidane's game, but 12 years ago there were negotiations with the Catalans.

His father Fahrudin Pjanic was negotiating with Joan Laporta's club but didn't end up with a deal.

"The negotiations were concrete and there was a solid offer for Miralem, but it was a turbulent time at the club, they changed the coach Rijkaard, players, they asked for the president to resign, so we didn't go," he told EFE.

"Also for someone who was then 18 it wasn't good to go to a club like Barcelona where they demand immediate results and where nobody has time to wait for a young player to mature and develop in the best way."
