Gerard Pique called a journalist a 'puppet' on social media on Tuesday as the fallout to the social media scandal at Barcelona continues.

The Barça defender posted the tweet in reply to Marçal Lorente, who had earlier offered his point of view on what has become known as 'BarçaGate' since SER's revelations on Monday.

Lorente had written: "I have known the environment and idiosyncrasies of Barcelona and the club's members for many years and fortunately they cannot be as easily manipulated (anymore), are more intelligent and know perfectly how to identify who wants to use the media, political and economic interests to make it at Barça."

Pique didn't like that assessment and replied to the journalist with one word: 'puppet.'

The Catalan player is one of thoose that has been attacked by the social media accounts ran by I3 Ventures. Barça have since rescinded their contract with the company and insist they knew nothing about the posts
