Philippe Coutinho needs knee surgery after Eibar injury

The Brazilian went off and left Barca with 10 men

Philippe Coutinho has a meniscus injury in his left knee and he will be out for quite some time. The Brazilian hurt himself playing a pass against Eibar in the 1-1 draw. He came on for Pjanic after 66 minutes but could not finish the game, leaving Barca playing the final minutes with only 10 men.

Coutinho has played 14 games this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. Without a doubt his absence will be a blow for Ronald Koeman’s plans. The team are sixth and a long way behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.

Early reports are that Coutinho could miss around four months with the knee injury and needs surgery on it.
