Pep Guardiola on facing former pupil Xavi for the first time as a coach
The Man City boss is looking forward to going up against the Barcelona manager
Pep Guardiola is coming back to Camp Nou for the charity friendly clash between Barcelona and Man City on August 24. The game is to raise money for the fight against ELA. Guardiola will come face to face with Xavi on the sidelines for the first time, professor against student.
Pep has faced Barcelona before in the Champions League but not Xavi, as a coach.
“Xavi and I have known each other a long time,” said Pep in a press conference for the game’s announcement on Monday. “He’s been a team-mate and later I coached him. I will always be grateful for how he helped me on the pitch. His career speaks for itself. The club can get back to where it was. I am delighted we will meet again.”
