Pep Guardiola meets with Barca target Rabiot
The Frenchman doesn't want to renew his PSG deal and could move to Man City
The season has started but the tension around Adrien Rabiot’s situation has not decreased. On one hand PSG have been desperately trying to get him to renew his deal which expires in 2019, and on the other, Pep Guardiola has met with the player to tell him he wants to sign him at the end of the season. Barcelona tried to sign Rabiot this summer.
Radio Montecarlo said PSG have been trying to renew various players’ contracts. The first was Angel Di Maria and those upcoming are Alphonse Areola and Antoine Bernede (both of whose deals expired next summer).
The club has doubts about whether either will sign on again. Meanwhile they are trying to deal with Rabiot too, who is a starter and is not renewing either. From January 1 he can negotiate with other sides.
PSG are desperate not to let a player they formed, and a fan favourite, leave. RMC say that Rabiot has never shown will to renew his deal, and even though his mother Veronique has attended various meetings, they aren’t planning on staying.
Meanwhile reports say Pep or his staff met Rabiot last week to discuss signing the 23 year old for next season.
