Pep Guardiola confirms "Ferran Torres deal is very close"

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Ferran Torres’s deal with Barcelona is ready to be sealed. “I know that we are negotiating with Barcelona and an agreement is very close. When there’s anything more, Txiki will tell me and the club will make it official.”

Barcelona are on the verge of sealing the forward’s arrival for 55m euros plus 10m in variables. Pep admitted that Ferran is posed to join.

“I’ve always had the feeling that Madrid and Barcelona, when they knock on the door, it’s hard to say no. They are the two biggest teams in the world. Ferran is Spanish, Barcelona want him. He knocked on my door and told me he wanted to go, so I told him ok, no problem. I called Txiki and the agents sealed the deal. I hear it’s all done. I can’t convince a player if he’s already decided in his head.”

Guardiola said that he feels happy for the player and doesn’t want players who aren’t happy to stay at the club.

“I want my players happy, I’ve always said it. If you’re not happy, it’s the time to go. We aren’t like the clubs where the player wants to go and tells it to the president, the CEO, they tell him to stay. If they want to go because they feel happier elsewhere, it’s time to go.”
