Pedri's new Barcelona contract to include a billion euro release clause!
The midfielder will pen his new terms with the Catalan club on Friday
Good news for Barcelona. Pedri will sign his new contract with the club on Friday, extending his stay at Camp Nou until 2026. He will give a news conference on the day.
Pending the official announcement from the club, details about the agreement continue to emerge, with the journalist Fabrizio Romano revealing that the player will have a €1 billion release clause, a brutal increase on the current €400 million clause.
Pedri, still 18, will become the first Barça player to break the billion barrier in terms of a release clause. The previous highest was Antoine Griezmann's €800m.
Barça, meanwhile, tie down one of the game's brightest prospects for the foreseeable future.
