Pedri will not be available for Barca at San Mames
The Spanish midfielder is still injured and will return in the Clasico most likely
Pedri is completely ruled out for FC Barcelona's visit to Athletic Club next Sunday. Although some reports indicated that the Canary Islands midfielder would be tested at the end of this week in an attempt to make it to the crucial game at San Mamés, Xavi Hernández will not be able to count on him and, as the initial forecasts indicated, he will have to wait until the La Liga derby against Real Madrid (19 March at the Spotify Camp Nou) to be able to do so.
Pedri continues to make good progress from the injury he sustained in the first leg of the Europa League play-off against Manchester United on 16 February. The diagnosis of Barça's doctors was one month in the infirmary and, although the possibility of shortening the timeframe was contemplated, in the end he will end up fulfilling the initial forecast. As 'RAC1' advanced at the beginning of the week, the player from Tenerife will not be included in the squad for the trip to Bilbao.
The match at La Catedral will be the sixth game that Pedri will miss due to the muscular setback in question. He missed the second leg at Old Trafford, the league games against Cádiz, Almería, Valencia and the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals against Real Madrid.
