Pedri out of Sevilla cup game, doubt for PSG

| sport

The midfielder has been outstanding this season for the Catalans

Pedri’s injury didn’t look good. He felt something go in the bottom part of his left leg, as Barcelona said in a medical statement, and he quickly asked for a change. The Canarian arrived at the hotel on crutches and obviously hurt.

More tests will take place on Sunday but SPORT has learned he has a calf injury which could keep him out for around two weeks.

We’ll see what the tests say but he won’t be able to feature in the Copa del Rey semi second leg against Sevilla on Wednesday, and PSG is unlikely to.

Araujo and Pique also went off with knocks but both should be fine to play, more scares than anything else.

The Uruguayan did not want to go off and kicked over a row of seats, showing his frustration.

Pique went off as agreed with Koeman before the game; it didn’t have anything to do with the pictures of him holding his knee, which recently recovered from injury.
