Pedri: I hope that Lionel Messi stays at Barca
The midfielder spoke about the Argentine star and club's captain
Pedri seems like a player born to play for Barcelona. It’s not just that he understands the club’s game perfectly, and links well with Leo Mesi, but also that he loves the club.
He spoke to beIN Sports about his wonderful season at Spain call up.
“When I was little I had the chance to meet Joan Laporta,” said Pedri, whose grandad was a founder of the Tenerife Barca pena (fan club). “He signed y shirt and it was an honour to wear it with his signature.”
Pedri has exploded at Barcelona this season.
“I love playing beside Messi,” he said. “He’s the best at taking decisions and finishing attacks so I always look for him on the pitch.”
Pedri wants him to stay at Barcelona beyond the summer. “I hope Messi stays at Barca,” he said. “I love playing by his side but I understand that it’s a personal decision.”
Pedri was pleased with his Spain call-out. “I feel proud to defend the Spanish national team’s shirt,” he said.
