Pedri delighted to make Barcelona return after two months out

The midfielder came off the bench in Sunday's win over Atletico Madrid

Pedri put a two-month injury nightmare behind him, including a relapse, and returned to help Barcelona to a 1-0 win over Atlético Madrid on Sunday which may have clinched the league title.

The midfielder was very happy with his comeback: "I really wanted to be on the pitch, because it's where I enjoy myself the most and I'm very happy with the victory. From the outside, it's worse, because you can only pray that the goals go in and you get the points."

Despite the fact that in his absence Barça's level of play and results have dropped, Pedri did not want to take credit for this afternoon's victory: "We are all important and I wasn't the only one missing. (Frenkie) de Jong, who is an extraordinary player, was also missing and it's very noticeable when he's not here. We hope to get Dembélé and Christensen back too."

Speaking about the game, Pedri said: "The whole team took it as a final, because of the size of the opposition and because we're playing at home, where we have to chew up our opponents. It was a game that decided a lot against an Atlético who were on a great run and who have a stellar Griezmann in their ranks-- so we got three very important points in our objective of winning the title."

A league title, by the way, which will be the first of Pedri's career: "There is always excitement about winning the league and the sooner we can certify it, the better. But we are in no hurry, when it has to come, it will come."

The midfielder had a few words of praise for Ferran Torres: "He deserves it, because he is a player who works hard and people don't see that."
