The two silver medallists trained with the first team's squad in this morning's session

FC Barcelona's Olympic silver medallists Pedri and Eric García are back in first team training. After attending the Joan Gamper Training Ground for physical and medical assessments yesterday, they started training with the first team squad on Thursday morning.

This was Eric García's first training session with the Barça first team, having joined from Manchester City this summer. The young centre back will now step up preparations for the upcoming season, in which he hopes to play an important role and play significant minutes. He left Barcelona when he was in the 'Cadete' youth side and now, many years later, he is back wearing the colours of the club that he loves.

Pedri, meanwhile, hopes to get minutes off the bench in this Sunday's clash against Real Sociedad after only three training sessions with the squad. Barça's first game of the season is due to kick off at 8pm at Camp Nou.

Frenkie De Jong and Clement Lenglet, who are recovering from their respective injuries, will have to undergo a last minute fitness test to deem their availability for the fixture. Mingueza, Ansu Fati, Dembélé and Aguero have already been ruled out.
