The midfielder scored the winner in the Catalan derby at Montilivi on Saturday

Pedri González was once again FC Barcelona's match-winner. For the second week running, and on his 100th appearance for the club, he scored the only goal in the 1-0 win at Girona on Saturday.

Thanks to a run into the box, he turned home Jordi Alba's cross to follow up his strike against Getafe last weekend.

Pedri explained to DAZN that "(the coaches) always tell me that I have to score more and now they are going in. I am really happy to be getting these chances and taking them."

He added: "I feel more comfortable with a lot of contact with the ball, but everyone likes to score goals upfront. I get further forward to try to contribute."

Regarding the final stretch of the match, with Barça hanging on, Pedri commented that "we have not been able to close out games recently. We're struggling to do it. Also, the team that receives a goal, step up to try to find the equaliser. At (Girona's) pitch today, the fans are pressing and you can come (under pressure)."
