Patrick Kluivert is a possible option for the new Director of La Masia role

Patrick Kluivert could be able to make a return to FC Barcelona. According to SPORT's sources, his name is one of the favourites to the land the new Director of the Youth Academy role.

Over the last few days, the sporting commission has been working hard to install the new structure for La Masia going forward. After mixed results in recent years, Barça are determined to restructure the current system and have informed many of the previous coaches that they will no longer be needed. This change in direction continued this Friday when Victor Valdes was confirmed as the new head coach of the Juvenil A side. Denis Silva, who previously held that role, has yet to be told what his fate is.

The next position looking to be filled is that of the Youth Academy Director. Barça want a charismatic person, who has ties with the club, to take over this role. Patrick Kluivert is one fo the early favourites for the job. The Dutchman has recently left his position with Cameroon after they were knocked out of the African Cup of Nations at the Round of 16 stage. Kluivert was Seedorf's assistant for the African giants and could be tempted to return to Barça. His son Shane is already with the Infantil B team. He's also been keen to help Frenkie de Jong adapt to his new club.

Kluivert isn't the only candidate on the shortlist as another major name is linked with the position, although the club is yet to make a final decision on who to officially approach.
