Paris Saint-Germain want to sign young defender Diego Almeida, one of the most promising players coming through at Barcelona. Almeida plays for the U19 team and has been capped by Spain at youth level.
PSG follow events at Barça closely and have tempted the player with an offer that would improve what he earns in Catalonia. The French club want to repeat the operations they did with Xavi Simons and Kais Ruiz in the past.
Almeida turns 18 in February and has a contract with Barça until June 2023 after signing a three-year deal in 2020, when he turned 16.
His intention is to remain at Barcelona but PSG are pressing to change his mind. He has still not made his debut with Barça B but has trained with the first team.
PSG are not the only club after the youngster, who could also represent Ecuador due to his parents, with other French clubs and Italian sides also showing an interest.
