The club have been told to reintegrate the midfielder into the first team squad

Paris Saint-Germain have taken a step back on their decision to remove Adrien Rabiot from any first team activities.

The French club had sent the midfielder to the second team as he refused to renew his contract, banishing him from Thomas Tuchel's sessions.

But the Association of French Footballers have sent a note to PSG telling them to reintegrate him with the first team within 48 hours.

PSG allowed him to train at the club's training ground on Thursday, but he had to train alone as Tuchel had given the player's the day off after Wednesday's cup game.

Only Marco Verratti was at the training centre as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury suffered last weekend.

The other PSG players return to training on Friday. If they Ligue 1 leaders heed the warning, then Rabiot will return to working with Tuchel's first team.

Rabiot's potential return to PSG training comes one day after Barcelona announced the signing of Frenkie de Jong, a transfer which could see the Catalans drop out of a move for Rabiot.
