Paris Saint-Germain close the door on possible Jules Kounde signing

The French club feel well covered in defence and won't move for the Barça man

Jules Kounde has told FC Barcelona to listen to offers for him this summer. The centre-back does not feel comfortable playing at right-back and believes that he can play better in the middle of defence. In this sense, his camp has already begun to move to see which teams would be interested in incorporating for next season.

One of them has been Paris Saint-Germain. The French club has enough financial muscle to afford a signing of the size of Kounde, whose transfer would be one of the highest ever paid for a defender.

The Parisians, however, have no plans to sign any centre-backs this summer, as they believe they have more than enough cover for the position. They recently closed the renewal of Marquinhos until 2028, as well as having closed for months the arrival of Skriniar from Inter Milan as a free agent.

As if that wasn't enough, the Parisians also have three other players in the squad for the centre-back position: Sergio Ramos, whose contract expires on 30 June and whose renewal is being worked on; as well as two youth players: the young Bitshiabu and Kimpembe. Both have contracts expiring in 2024, with the latter having more options to leave this summer.
