Pablo Torre back with Xavi, chance to play at Elche

The young midfielder has not had many chances this season in the first team

Pablo Torre played his third game of the season for Barça Atletic in Sabadell on Saturday and played an important role in the 2-1 win. Undoubtedly, his best minutes so far with Rafa Márquez's team, showing some great quality on the ball.

But his place is in the first team and since Monday he has been training under the orders of Xavi Hernandez. He took part in a small session, as one of the few available to Xavi. Iñaki Peña, Eric, Marcos Alonso, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Sergio Roberto, Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Pablo Torre himself, a group which will slowly increase as the internationals return.

The first to do so will be Robert Lewandowski, who started for Poland without scoring a goal, and Jules Kounde, who played ten minutes for France in Ireland.

Torre will reinforce Barça Atlètic when the first team is not playing - as happened this past weekend, when there was a break due to national team commitments - or when Xavi does not call him up, but for this Saturday in Elche he is likely to be in the squad.

In fact, he could get some quality minutes in the league leader's visit to the bottom of the table club, taking into account the number of injured players, including midfielders Pedri and Frenkie de Jong, and the accumulated fatigue of the internationals, such as midfielders Gavi and Kessie.

Torre's last few minutes with Xavi came in the defeat by Almeria, when he replaced Sergi Roberto in the 76th minute. In La Liga he had also played a few minutes (13') in the 4-0 thrashing of Athletic Bilbao at the Spotify Camp Nou in October.

His only starts have been in the Champions League - in Plzen, where he celebrated with his first and only goal - and in the Copa del Rey.
