Ousmane Dembele's surprising claim: I will be back in two months
The French forward posted an optimistic message on Instagram
Barcelona expect him to be sidelined for over three months
Ousmane Dembele arrived back in Barcelona on Wednesday night after a successful operation in Finland on Tuesday. Specialist Sakari Orava gave him permission to return to the Catalan city after he spent the night in Helsinki.
After having his ruptured tendon operated on, Barça said that Dembele would need three-and-a-half months to recover, slightly less than the initial three month estimation.
But the player himself has made a surprising claim. Shortly after arriving in Barcelona, Dembele uploaded a photograph to Instagram of his team-mates wearing T-shirts offering their support him before Tuesday's win over Eibar.
The photo doesn't have any direct comments, but it does have various hashtag. Among them are #viscabarça, #prontoderegreso and, most interestingly, #iwillbebackintwomonths.
Is Dembele saying he will be back six weeks sooner than the doctors have said? That's what it seems. Although he could also be referring to the fact he may be back training in two months. Time will tell.
