The French forward could earn more elsewhere but would prefer Camp Nou renewal

There is still a long way to go in the Ousmane Dembele contract saga but the latest meeting between Barcelona and the player's agent, Moussa Sissoko, was positive.

SPORT have learned that the player is ready to accept an inferior offer to what he could earn elsewhere to continue under Xavi Hernandez next season.

After the meeting in Marrakech between director of football Mateu Alemany and Sissoko recently, SPORT revealed on Wednesday that the agent was in Barcelona for more talks.

There is still no agreement and, while there is more give than before, there is still some difference between the two parties, but Dembele's desire -- and gestures -- to continue are making things easier.

The arrival of Aubameyang has without doubt increased his will to stay at Camp Nou. The club and the player's camp will keep negotiating in the coming weeks.

Dembele's current deal expires in June.
