The referee has twice dismissed Xavi's brother in 2022

Oscar Hernandez, Xavi’s brother and right-hand man at Barcelona, was sent off in the 41st minute of the clash with Mallorca for protesting and arguing with the opposite bench. It was his second red card since he came to the club. The first was last season against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou on Feb 6. And curiously, the referee who issued him the red card was the same one as today - Gil Manzano.

Oscar protested and argued after Gerard Pique was booked because Gavi had also been fouled before that happened and it went unpunished.

His red card is another on a long list of punishments Manzano has meted out to Barcelona.

He sent Lenglet off against Girona for elbowing Pere Pons, but it was a very controversial decision, and he sent Neymar off in 2016-17, as well as missing a clear penalty on Sergi Roberto. He also left Barcelona with nine men after sending off Luis Suarez and Sergi Roberto in the Copa del Rey against Atletico Madrid.
