The Catalan club do not want to include an obligatory option to buy in the summer

Barcelona are still in talks over a deal to bring Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno to the club and in the last few hours they have taken a step forward.

Seeing that things had stalled, they made another suggestion to Valencia with the intention of reaching an agreement with Los Che this month.

Barça and Valencia are working on a loan move for the striker until the summer. Valencia want an obligatory buy option to be included, worth around 60 million euros, while Barça want it to be optional.

Therefore, to work around that, the Catalan club have made a counter-offer: if they don't make the loan permanent, they will pay a penalty fee to Valencia.

In that scenario, all parties would benefit. Barça would obtain the loan of a player to replace the injured Luis Suarez and Valencia would be guaranteed some sort of payment at some point.

Negotiations continue ahead of Saturday's game between the two teams, with the transfer window open until Jan. 31.
