The Catalans have got Dani Alves and Adama Traore back this winter window

Barcelona are active in the winter window. Adama Traore is coming back to Camp Nou and he will have his medical on Friday. But it’s not the only operation the club are looking at.

They are interested in bringing back another former player too, in Alejandro Grimaldo.

They need players who can fit the team’s profile and give everything and so who better than footballers formed here? That’s what Xavi and the club are looking for.

Adama has shown he wants to succeed here, accepting a smaller salary and rejecting Tottenham. Grimaldo, meanwhile, said that his time at Barcelona was not over and he was willing to come back.

Neither player left wholly of their own choice, with Barcelona selling them and now they are more experienced, they can return through the ‘big’ door.

Grimaldo joined the club in 2008 from Valencia, and was voted captain of the B team in 2015, half a season before he moved to Benfica, where he has shone.
