Gerard Pique is one of the most important players in Barcelona's first-team squad. The defender plays a big role in the dressing room and has a good relationship with the president, Joan Laporta, who he met with a few days ago.
According to information from Onze on Esport 3, the centre-back and the president met during the period of reflection taking place regarding Ronald Koeman's future as Barça coach.
Laporta wanted to know Pique's opinion on the issue and to hear what he thought about the season, especially the final few weeks when Barça ran out of gas, winning just two of their final six games.
Per Onze, they also spoke about Pique's future in the meeting. The defender knows Barça are suffering financially and is willing to restructure his contract to help the club.
He has a contract until 2024 and could renew his terms so that they're based on games played. For Koeman, he's been a key player and one of the pillars of the Barça side.
