One of Porto's highly-rated youngsters says 'no' to Barça move

Tomás Esteves is a highly-rated youngster in his native Portugal. Plenty of Europe's biggest clubs have kept tabs on the 17-year-old right back, currently at Porto, and Barça went one step further than most. According to 'O Jogo', the Catalan giants made an official offer to the player this summer. Porto turned the proposal down.
Esteves is involved Porto's preseason plans, playing 45 minutes against Fulham and the whole match against Real Betis, and no one at the club would consider letting the youngster leave. In fact, Esteves is earning a similar amount to other members of the first team but is expected to play with the reserves next season too.
Barça's offer was said to be around the €10m but it was immediately rejected. The next step for Porto is to increase his buyout clause to around the €30m mark. Esteves was a key member of the Porto squad which won the UEFA Youth League last season.
