FC Barcelona and UD Las Palmas have agreed a deal for the loan of Sergi Samper until June 2018, Barça have reported this afternoon.
Samper will replace Roque Mesa in the Canary Islander’s squad after the midfielder joined Swansea City for €12 million. From Barça’s perspective, the loan has allowed the club to get reduce the number of midfielders in the squad this year, which is currently very high.
For Sampler, 22, who came through La Masia, it will be his second season on loan in a row after a spell at Granada last year.
Barça still have to resolve the futures of Douglas, Munir and Vermaelen. None of the three feature in Ernesto Valverde’s plans.
