The former midfielder has left Al Sadd to return to Camp Nou as manager

It's official! On November 5, Barcelona closed an agreement to bring Xavi Hernandez back to the club from Al Sadd as coach on a contract until 2024.

Al Sadd made the announcement on social media, explaining the motives for his departure from Qatar and his return to Camp Nou.

"The Al Sadd administration has agreed on Xavi’s move to Barcelona after the payment of the release clause stipulated in the contract" CEO Turki Al-Ali said.

"We’ve agreed on cooperation with Barcelona in the future. Xavi is an important part of Al-Sadd’s history and we wish him success

"Xavi informed us a few days ago of his desire to go to Barcelona at this particular time, because of the critical stage his hometown club is going through, and we understand this and decided not to stand in his way."

The clause

With respect to his contract, Xavi will receive a smaller salary than he did in Qatar and Barcelona will finally pay the release clause to buy him out of his contract, thought to be around €5 million.

Xavi is expected in Barcelona this weekend and his presentation as coach will take place early next week at Camp Nou.
