Official: Raphinha signs for Barcelona after Leeds agree to deal
The Brazilian is coming to the Camp Nou, something he's fought for, for weeks
After months of intense negotiation and various sides seen off, the insistence of Raphinha and Deco has prevailed, with Barcelona announcing a deal with Leeds for the Brazilian winger on Wednesday, pending his medical.
The player, who will be presented this week, will be incorporated into the squad to head on the American tour with the rest of his team-mates.
In the final stretch of the season, Barcelona got in touch with Leeds to declare their interest. The player’s only hope was to come to Barcelona. He helped keep Leeds in the top flight, even though it made his move harder as he would have had a 25m euro release fee if they went down.
The pressure from Raphinha and Deco was fundamental in the move. Leeds were ready to accept Chelsea’s offer but he wanted Barcelona, and that’s what he’s got.
