Official: Messi isn't called up by Argentina
The new Barcelona captain isn't included in the squad for Argentina's friendlies against Guatemala and Colombia
Leo Messi, as expected, won't play for Argentina as he contemplates his future with the national side. At the moment this means Messi isn't included in new coach Leonel Scaloni's squad list for the two matches against Guatemala and Colombia in September.
Messi told Sacaloni, who he has a close relationship with, that he needs some time before making a definitive decision.
This is Argentina's squad list for those two friendlies:

In the 29-man list there's no Messi but there is a new face with a familiar name: Giovanni Simeone. The 23-year-old forward, who is the son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego, has finally be rewarded with a call up after a fantastic season with Fiorentina.
Both friendlies will be played in the United States. On the 7th September they'll play against Guatemala in Los Angeles and they'll face Colombia in New Jersey on the 11th.
