The Brazilian winger, who barely featured under Valverde last season, is heading to Russia for €45m

Barça have confirmed one of the most expected sales this summer as Malcom leaves the club to sign for Zenit Saint Petersburg in a deal worth up to €45m.

This means Barcelona will recover the €41m they invested in the winger last summer when they signed him from Bordeaux ahead of Roma.

After Zenit's initial offer fell short of that, coming in at €35m plus €5m with add-ons, it represents quite the outcome to bring in more than expected. Everton had also bid €40m but the personal terms from Zenit blew the Premier League side out of the water.

Malcom leaves Barça after barely featuring for Ernesto Valverde. He made 24 appearances last season, scoring four goals - including one against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey and a crucial strike against Inter Milan in the Champions League - plus two assists.
