OFFICIAL: Jules Kounde signs for Barcelona from Sevilla
The French defender agreed a deal with the Catalan giants
Barcelona have made official the news that Jules Kounde will be signing for the club. The French defender arrived in the Catalan capital on Thursday after negotiations between Barcelona and Sevilla concluded. The deal is for €50 million plus €10 million more in variables, and now Koundé will take his medical on Friday and sign the contracts. Kounde waited for Barcelona until the last moment, like Raphinha did, and the player's desire to come to Barcelona was key to the deal.
The Frenchman rejected Chelsea‘s offer and eventually, Sevilla gave into Barcelona‘s bids with the Catalans agreeing to pay the main fee upfront rather than in instalments. Finally the Koundé saga comes to an end, and coach Xavi has the defender he wanted to form a key part of his back line. The reconstruction of the team is going swimmingly.
