Official: Hector Bellerin signs contract renewal with Arsenal

Hector Bellerin has put pen to paper on a new deal with Arsenal, keeping him at the club until 2022.

The former Barcelona youngster is expected to earn 120,000 pounds per week and his new terms ward off interest from the Catalan club and Manchester City.

“Hector Bellerin has signed a new long-term contract,” Arsenal confirmed on Monday.

“The 21-year-old has developed into one of the Premier League’s outstanding full-backs since breaking into the first team in 2014/15.

“We look forward to Hector’s continued progress with the club in the years to come.

“The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory process.”

Bellerin was one of Barça’s targets as they look for a right-back to replace out of favour Aleix Vidal, but they will instead turn their focus to Joao Cancelo and other alternatives.

The player posted on his Twitter account: “Yess Gunners!! I've just signed my new contract. I'll be giving all my reaction right now on my Snapchat (@HectorBellerin) & a giveaway.”
