Official: Dest joins AC Milan on season-long loan from FC Barcelona
The USMNT player flew to Italy on Thursday to finalise the deal
Barcelona right-back Sergiño Dest has joined AS Milan on loan until the end of the season. Xavi Hernandez told the defender he was not in his plans this season and he has decided to join the Italian club, who have an option make the move permanent for €20 million next summer.
The United States international, who joined Barça from Ajax in 2020, has agreed a four-year deal with Milan in the event they make the deal full-time.
Dest's Barça career had ups and downs. He made 72 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
His contract runs until 2025, but Xavi ruled him out of his plans for the upcoming season, with Barça set to sign Hector Bellerin as his replacement.
