La Masia graduate joins Getafe, where he played the second half of last year's campaign on loan

After two weeks of negotiations, as already communicated by Getafe's president, Barça and the Madrid-based club have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Carles Aleña. The centre midfielder, who played for the club on loan during the second half of last season, will continue wearing their kit for the next few years.

Barça announced the transfer on Tuesday, without disclosing the exact transfer fee. The club did reveal, however, that they will receive 50% of any future sale and also have a buy-back clause and first refusal clause for the player.

While the club did not confirm the value of the transfer, this figure is believed to be around 5 million euros.

Barça thanked the player for the effort, dedication and commitment that he has shown since he made his first team debut, and for all the years he spent playing for Barça B and developing his skills at La Masia. Aleña has spent his entire professional career as a Barça player, including loan spells at Real Betis and the aforementioned spell at Getafe.

Con el primer equipo del club, el de Mataró ha disputado un total de 44 partidos, consiguiendo ver portería en 3 de ellos.

Aleña represented Barça's first team on 44 occasions, getting on the score sheet 3 times.

Barça's 'Operation Exit' continues at a good pace.
