The ex-Arsenal man leaves after just seven appearances for the Catalan side

Hector Bellerin has completed his move to Sporting CP to strengthen the right-back position at the Portuguese club following the departure of Pedro Porro to Tottenham. Bellerín, who has only made seven official appearances for Barça after signing for free in the summer, failed to fit into Xavi's plans and is leaving the club earlier than expected.

Bellerín signs until the end of the season for the Portuguese side, which will leave him free in June to decide his future. The Lisbon club will pay a very low fee to Barça for the transfer, although higher than expected.

Seven Barça games

The full-back from Badalona arrived at Can Barça in the last transfer window. He was signed as a free agent from Arsenal, but failed to make a place for himself on the right flank and Xavi did not count on him.

Bellerín is heading to Portugal after making just seven official appearances for Barça, playing 494 minutes in total. He has played in three LaLiga games, two Champions League games and two Copa del Rey games.

Pedro Porro to Tottenham

On many occasions, Xavi has preferred to go for Ronald Araujo or Jules Koundé to cover the right-back position. Without minutes at Barça and after the departure of Pedro Porro to Tottenham in exchange for €45 million, Sporting CP has decided to bet on Bellerín to replace the player from Badajoz.
