The forward's not been able to play for his new club yet due to an injury

Sergio Aguero has not played since joining Barcelona. He got injured before the Joan Gamper Trophy and since than has been working on returning to full fitness.

He was ruled out for 10 weeks and is now in the final stages of his recovery. Barça's medical team calculate that he will be ready to make his debut on Oct. 17, when Barça host Valencia at Camp Nou.

Barça face Benfica and Atletico Madrid away from home this week before the international break. They then have two weeks off before the Valencia match.

During the break, Aguero will be able to step up his training schedule as Barça continue to get players back from injuries.

Ansu Fati returned last weekend, scoring against Levante, and with Aguero back, coach Ronald Koeman will have more options than ever in attack.

Meanwhile, Jordi Alba and Pedri are both in contention to return against Benfica and Atletico this week.
