'Nothing ruled out:' Dembele could yet renew his Barça contract

Reports in France suggest everything remains on the table for the winger

Ousmane Dembele's future seemed decided at the end of January. The player didn't want to leave in the winter window but it was taken as a given that he would leave Barcelona for free when his contract expires on June 30.

However, the storm of the last few months has passed and another scenario is back on the table. Xavi Hernandez has brought him back into the team and he finally has the continuity needed to be an important player.

In addition, recent comments by both Xavi and president Joan Laporta confirm that Barça are still ready to talk with Dembele's agent, Moussa Sissoko, about a possible renewal.

SPORT revealed a few days ago that Barça are ruling nothing out. The player is happy with Xavi and the good feeling between the two could turn the situation around.

Now, in France, the same message is being sent. On Sunday, Telefoot assured that the former Borussia Dortmund winger has still not chosen his next move and everything remains on the table, including a renewal.

"Despite having contact with some big European clubs, especially in January, Dembele's future is not decided. An exit or a renewal is still possible," wrote the journalist Julien Maynard on Twitter.

That's the state of play. We will have to see in the coming weeks what happens with the Barça-Dembele saga.
