Per 'Le10Sport', the Brazilian's contract renewal is linked to signing Messi
Neymar has a plan. Or at least that's what a story in Le10 Sport says. The Brazilian has a contract at PSG until 2022 and the French club are waiting for his decision on whether he will renew his deal or not.
Neymar said on Wednesday after the Champions League win at Manchester United that he wants to play with Messi again next season. The two previously spent four years as teammates at Camp Nou.
According to Le10 Sport, Neymar has told PSG that he will renew if they can convince Messi to join them for free when his contract at Barça expires in June 2021.
Messi, 33, is free to talk with other clubs from January onwards. In August, he said he wanted to leave Barça.
Obviously, no one knows what the Argentine's final decision will be but his future looks to be elsewhere at the moment unless the incoming president, who will be elected on Jan. 24, can convince him to stay.
Even then, Barça have a huge financial problem and will not be able to compete with the money other clubs will be able to offer Messi. It's not going to be easy.
