Brazil's team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, believes Neymar is ready to return to training now

Neymar Junior is ready to return to training according to Brazil's team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar. In a statement to UOL, the doctor said: "If he was at a club, he'd be in the process of transitioning (to full training). He'd be out on the pitch and starting ball work."

This means that should Neymar appear in Paris on the 15th July, there would be no restrictions on what the player could do. "The recovery period is usually four weeks." A timeframe which he has now passed.

Lasmar explained that the last time he checked Neymar's ankle was after Brazil's 2-0 victory over Argentina in the semi-finals of the Copa America.

"Neymar looked really well," added Lasmar, who operated on Neymar's broken metatarsal back in March 2018.

On Tuesday night, Neymar appeared on various videos across social media playing footvolley in Rio de Janeiro. It's doubtful that will have pleased PSG as the samba star continues to miss preseason training.

However, medical speaking Neymar is free to begin training. Now he just needs to turn up.
