It didn't take Neymar's father long to respond to Paris Saint-Germain's statement saying Neymar was facing punishment for failing to report to training on Monday.
The PSG statement read: "On Monday 8 July, Neymar was due to return to preseason activities with the PSG senior squad. PSG notes that Neymar was not in attendance at the agreed time and place.
"This was without the club's prior authorisation. The club regrets this situation and will, therefore, take appropriate action."
In comments to Fox Sports Brazil, Neymar Sr. quickly replied, claiming that his son is not due back in France until July 15.
"We have commercial and institutional events to carry out, events that the Neymar Institute has been doing for the last five years now," he said.
"PSG, with the presence of the president Nasser, have even participated personally in these events. For that reason, I don't understand the reason for the statement. Of course we are angry, because PSG have always been aware of the situation."
Neymar, who is currently with his family in Mangaratibia, will spend two days at his Institute this week and after that has a Red Bull event known as Neymar Jr's Five.
While the rest of the Brazil internationals at PSG are off until August 5, due to the Copa America, which they won on Sunday, PSG don't consider Neymar part of that group as he got injured in a warmup game against Qatar.
That game took place on June 6 and PSG consider that Neymar's holidays began on that day and he should have been back in Paris to join up with Thomas Tuchel's team on Monday.
