Neymar Jr. has gone on strike. The Brazilian has informed PSG that he wants them to agree a deal with FC Barcelona so he can leave the club.

As revealed by SPORT on Sunday, the transfer could be confirmed very soon. Negotiations, via intermediaries, have seen PSG lower their initial demands to below €200m. It could be made even cheaper if Barça include players with up to three wanted by the French club.

Next Monday, the 8th July, PSG players return for preseason training. Neymar is ready to go on strike and refuse to join up with his teammates or go on the tour of China.

PSG aren't surprised by this turn of events. They could avoid any further mess by allowing Neymar extra time off as they continue talks with Barça. He's currently in Brazil where he hopes the rape allegations against him will be dismissed.

Ney is still on holiday but is aware of everything that is going on. Ricardo Rosa and Rafael Martini are both helping him recovery from the ankle injury which ruled him out of the Copa America.

Brazil's team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, took scans of the injury just 10 days ago to see how he was progressing.

Despite the close relationship between Lasmar and Neymar, the doctor refused to publicly state when Neymar would be available for selection again. This is to avoid any potential problems with PSG himself. The player recently uploaded a video of him doing sprints as he builds up his fitness.

IN Porto Alegre and Belo Horizonte

Neymar was in Porto Alegre last Thursday, at the Arena do Gremio, to watch Brazil take on Paraguay. He'll now head to Belo Horizonte to watch Brazil face Argentina in the semi-finals of the Copa America.

The Samba star has refused to speak about his future whilst the tournament is ongoing out of respect for his teammates.
