The Brazilian's legal team deposited the clause at Camp Nou on Thursday

La Liga refused to accept it due to their doubts about PSG's finances

Hours after La Liga turned Neymar's legal representatives away and rejected his 222 million euros release clause, the same legal team have opted to go straight to Barcelona's offices to perform the operation.

La Liga, who refused the money presented in check form because they have serious ethical and financial doubts about Paris Saint-Germain's ability to do the deal, is simply a place where the clause should be deposited. They cannot avoid the player terminating his link with Barça by paying the 222 million, though.

By paying the clause at La Liga's offices, the player avoids having to deposit the money with the club, but given the LFP and Javier Tebas' clear stance, there was no choice for Neymar's legal team but to head to head to Camp Nou with a tail worth 222 million euros between the clubs.

Once it's been paid, Neymar will stop being a Barcelona player and will be free to sign for Paris Saint-Germain. He is expected in the French city on Friday.
