"I feel like I'm in the best form since I joined PSG," Neymar said three years after his controversial move away from Barça

On Monday the 3rd August 2020 it was the three-year anniversary since Neymar Junior swapped Barcelona for Paris Saint Germain. The Brazilian left the Camp Nou in a €222m deal, the most expensive transfer in football history.

Three years later and Neymar has seen many things. He's dealt with injuries, speculation linking him with a return to Barça and scored 74 goals in 85 matches (including friendlies).

Neymar, more than at any other time, appears relaxed in Paris. "Every match (in the Champions League) is a final. That's how I see it. We are going out onto the pitch to win. The team is confident and united. Naturally, that confidence and unity are reflected in my form, which I'm very satisfied with. It's everything. If everyone works hard and as a team, it will allow us to win trophies."

PSG are seeing the best of Ney

Neymar took time to reflect on his three years - and nearly three seasons - at PSG. "These three years have been full of experiences. I had some happy moments and some difficult ones, especially when I couldn't play due to injury. With the help of my teammates, I was able to overcome them and concentrate on what's important for everyone, working hard on the pitch to bring titles to this club. Our supporters and club can see in our performances how committed we are in every match."

"I believe I'm in the best form since I arrived in Paris. We're a family who shares the same dream: we want to win the Champions League this season. We'll fight for that because we've never been this close to winning the competition."

Neymar finally seems happy in Paris as well as playing Ligue 1, which can often be difficult for players like him. "The changes they make match after match. It's a style of football which is very physical, with young players who are talented and fast. My strength is to beat my man and help a teammate score. That's how I like to play."
