Neymar is convinced he will return to the Camp Nou this summer

Neymar has always been clear in that his primary objective was to leave Paris this summer. After that, his wish is to sign for Barça but he won't close the door of any other destination either. The Brazilian has been waiting for a significant move from the Camp Nou outfit to bring him back and that's why the most recent meeting in the French capital was positively welcomed by the forward. He's told those closest to him exactly that, as well as friends of his still at Barça, and it feels his dream is one step closer to completion.

Neymar has had an offer on the table from Real Madrid for a while now - and he isn't against the idea of turning up at the Santiago Bernabeu next season. However, the delay in signing on the dotted line as caused the recent switch in reporting from Madrid to deny any negotiations have taken place with PSG. This is because they are fearful Neymar will turn them down should Barça agree on a fee with the French giants. In fact, only a few days ago, Florentino Perez was convinced that he'd got his man. However, the most recent gesture from the Camp Nou has swung the balance against them and in favour of Josep Maria Bartomeu's side.

The meeting in Paris was key to this significant change in proceedings. Neymar wanted a public gesture to prove Barça's interest was genuine - and he got that. Madrid are less confident now and their best hope is negotiations between PSG and Barça break off which will leave Neymar free to join them instead.

Despite pressure from Barça, Neymar has so far refused to rule out moving anywhere else. This is, once again, due to his primary objective being to leave Paris at all costs. This is also why certain members of the current Barça squad informed the directors of Neymar's potential move to Madrid and, at press conferences, asked for Neymar to show he wanted a Camp Nou return.

PSG would prefer to sell Neymar to anyone but Barça. However, they know of the player's desire and their own need to move on an unhappy player so they can finalise their business before the transfer window closes.
