The PSG president met with the club captains to explain the Neymar situation this summer

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi met with the club's captains to explain the Neymar situation. According to Le Parisien, the PSG chief told them hat the Brazilian wanted to leave for Barcelona but also that it wouldn't be easy for him to go.

"Neymar can leave, but only if the offer is huge: 300 million euros." These were the first words Al-Khelaifi said to the captains in the early days of the Neymar saga. The same newspaper also revealed that there was a first meeting between PSG and Barça on August 13, but that the offer made by the Catalans was nowhere near good enough. They offered Philippe Coutinho and cash. "They arrived virtually with their hands empty," the report says.

Le Parisien also say that "PSG knew for a long time that Barça didn't have enough money. The price they put on Neymar's head couldn't be paid by any club. It's the story of a transfer which couldn't be done."

Barça's later attempts to sign Neymar -- and pressure from the player himself -- served for nothing in the end. Neymar will continue, for now, in Paris.
