The Brazilian headed down to the mixed zone to catch up with his former teammate

Leo Messi and Neymar spent time together at the Mineirao in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

After Brazil had knocked Argentina out of the Copa America, Neymar headed down to the mixed zone where the meeting with Barcelona's No.10 took place. Messi had been the best player for Argentina, while Neymar had watched from the stannds due to an injury.

Ney encouraged Messi after the painful KO and they spent several minutes alone talking. It was not a casual meeting, nor was it protocol. It hasn't escaped anyone that it took place just as PSG and Barcelona are negotiating the transfer of the Brazilian international.

The two get on well and if all goes as planned, they could be reunited at Camp Nou. Barça's players have backed the club's move for Neymar. He's still loved by his former teammates and they want him for their assault on next season's Champions League.

Neymar's presence at the Mineirao was expected and confirmed. He didn't appear by chance, which was the case in the last eight against Paraguay. Recovering from an ankle injury, he wanted to support his compatriots in a game where, beyond progress to the final, coach Tite's job was on the line.

Ney, looking sharp, didn't miss the chance to see Leo, given they hadn't had that opportunity until now. A possible scenario is that they will be colleagues again next month.
