The wounds opened by Luis Suarez's transfer from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid don't seem to have healed yet, far from it.
Messi published a message on Instagram on Friday saying goodbye to his friend Suarez, who has travelled to Madrid to close his move to Atletico.
However, inside the message was criticism of president Josep Maria Bartomeu and his running of the club.
"Nothing surprises me anymore," Messi wrote after accusing the club of kicking out Suarez disrespectfully.
Shortly after, former Barça forward Nyemar commented on Messi's post.
"Incredible how they do things," the Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain wrote in support of Messi.
Then, another former Barça player lent their support to Messi, Cesc Fabregas posting clapping emojis to illustrate his agreement with the Argentine's message.
The situation comes have Suarez said goodbye to Barça on Thursday. He personally avoided criticising Bartomeu in a press conference but Messi didn't hold back on Friday.
Suarez's goodbye was attended by Messi and his wife Antonella, as well as Busquets, Piqué, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba.
